On Sunday night Phil, Jackson & I drove to Toledo for the TTL holiday party. This year it was being held at the Huntington Center - the home of the Toledo Walleye (their hockey team - I believe the same league as the Plymouth Whalers). We had a room reserved for food, visits with Santa and meeting the families of those we work with on a daily basis. We were also given tickets to the 4:00 hockey game. When we walked into the building we were greeted by the Walleye mascot, to put it mildly Jackson was enthralled. Then when we went upstairs to our seats for the game another mascot came over for a visit, Jackson became even more excited, and finally when the Toledo Mudhens (their baseball farm team) came for a visit, Jackson went into full blown obsession, to the point that as the mascot walked away Jackson squirmed to get off my lap and RAN after the mascot pushing the adults in his way out of the way to get to the mascot. This is the only kid I've seen that actually kicked and screamed as I pulled him AWAY from the mascot - I think the poor person was thinking they had a mini-stalker on their hands.
Onto the hockey game - he loved it. He stood on my lap for the entire first period and watched the players and the lights and even clapped for the goals. Who knows we may have a basketball and hockey player on our hands!
We stayed until the end of the second period - Jackson was so exhausted that before we hit the state line he was fast asleep.
